Financial Support + for Kids' Recreation
Take Action!

The Healthy Communities Partnership: Lanark, Leeds and Grenville has identified two recommended actions, for our communities, in each of the priority areas:

Healthy Communities Partnership

Welcome to the Healthy Communities online profile for funding of recreation.

Funders Profiles:


Making Play Possible

Support for:

  • Children and youth in Leeds-Grenville,
  • Children with disabilities/special needs,
  • New immigrants,
  • Low income individuals/families.

Type of Activity:

  • Recreational activities: most social, artistic and sporting activities

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee
  • Equipment
  • Transportation
  • Connecting families and/or youth to recreation providers
  • Referral to community services/other sources of support
  • Support for children, youth or families coping with mental health challenges that hinder participation

Criteria:

  • Based on individual needs and circumstances
  • Income
    • Maximum amount per family/individual
    • Maximum amount per calendar year/season

  • Call 613-498-4844 and ask to speak to someone about Making Play Possible. Every person who applies for funding will need to find a time to meet with the Coordinator in person before the registration deadline for the activity for which you are applying.

 


Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Support for:

  • Children and youth (4-18).
  • Families in financial need – Based on Revenue Canada’s Low Income Cut-Offs

Type of Activity:

  • Sports and physical activity

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee
  • Equipment
  • Transportation

Criteria:

  • Income
  • Geographic Area
  • Age of recipient

Champions for Kids

Support for:

  • Students at UCDSB
  • Families (if for family programming)
  • Children with disabilities/special needs
  • Low income individuals/families

Type of Activity:

  • All recreational activities: sports, dance, music, art, drama,
  • Groups/clubs eg. guiding/scouts, pottery.

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee
  • Equipment
  • Transportation
  • Special needs

Criteria:

  • Type of activity
  • Income
  • Geographic area
  • Amount of funding required

Positive Opportunity Partnership (POP)

Support for:

  • Gananoque Children and youth (0-18),
  • Children with disabilities/special needs,
  • New immigrants,
  • Low income individuals/families.

Type of Activity:

  • All recreational activities: sports, dance, music, art, drama,
  • Groups/clubs eg. guiding/scouts, pottery.

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee
  • Equipment/supplies

Criteria:

  • Income
  • Age
  • Special needs
  • One activity per spring/summer and one fall/winter

KidSport

Support for:

  • Children and youth (0-18),
  • Low income individuals/families
  • Social barriers (new immigrant, special needs)

Type of Activity:

  • Organized sports that are instructed by qualified coaches and that represent a sustainable sport experience.

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee (Organization/club/league registration form to verify cost of the sport.)
  • Equipment - $250, except hockey which is eligible for $500 (Quote needed from retailer.)

  • Endorsement letter
  • Income

    • Maximum amount per calendar year/season

Just4Kics

Support for:

  • Children and youth (5-18),
  • New immigrants,
  • Low income individuals/families.

Type of Activity:

  • Organized sports and recreational activities that include competition over an extended period of time.

Type of Support:

  • Registration fee
  • Equipment
  • Transportation

Criteria:

  • Income
  • Age of recipient
  • Other - endorsement letter
